So far, May has been quite an exciting month for OWFS Records. We started with a simple rebrand, then began rebuilding season two's roster. As of May 15th, we've added two promising acts that have already created great momentum throughout our brand. We seek to stay active while anticipating releases, so apart of that will be with these weekly round-ups. Subscribe to our newsletter to stay updated!
Dwight Lep was signed on May 1st and put out his first single only four days later. D.R.E.A.M is a perfect representation of how drugs rule the world around us, in a metaphoric way of course. It's a clever flip on the 1993 Wu-Tang classic C.R.E.A.M which floods playlists to this day. Dwight describes cultures glorification of drugs, via unique wordplay layered over a hard-hitting instrumental. D.R.E.A.M is a perfect glimpse at what Dwight has in store for this season's releases.
Lor Misfit released his debut OWFS single "From The Underworld", which is a combination of high energy hip-hop mixed with classic emotional rap aesthetic. Misfit goes to great lengths to show respect to his inspirations, without absolutely shoving it into the listener's face. Lor is an extremely fresh breath of air especially if you're a fan of the more alternative, melodic hip-hop genre. Lor Misift plans on releasing a tape within the next upcoming months, and FTU is an absolute banger leading up to the album.
